this section is a tutorial about how to install Arch Linux onto a UEFI boot-loaded machine.

Arch Linux is a “bare-bones” distribution of Linux. it doesn’t even come with a GUI or any wireless capabilities! but going through this tutorial will force you to learn more about the Linux operating system and the things that are usually taken care for you on other distributions of Linux. no pain no gain!

Overview

1. acquiring the Arch Linux image
2. creating a bootable USB to istall Arch Linux from
3. installing Arch Linux onto a target machine

this tutorial assumes & requires that:

• Internet connection is available
• all data on the host computer can be wiped
• the host computer uses the a UEFI boot loader
• an empty 8GB or larger USB is available
